Airpower Hook or by Crook wins Race of the Year 2018

Thanks to the efforts of a great number of people we were delighted to receive the award for Race of the Year at the Triathlon Ireland Awards Night 2018.

As part of the BMW National Series, the 2018 Airpower Hook or by Crook had over 700 registered entrants and required the help of over 100 marshals on the day, making it a huge club effort and something everyone in the club can be proud of.

The smooth running on the day is testament to the months of work and preparation put in by race director Martin Condon, assistant race director David McConnell and the race committee, and a special thanks needs to go to them. A special thanks also needs to go to our title sponsor for the last 3 years, Airpower Pneumatics and Custom Solutions, without their support the event would not have been possible. A special thanks also needs to go to Alan Skehan and Dunmore East Golf Club who provide the venue and facilities that make this race such a success, to Waterford City and County Council, An Garda Siochana, in particular Sgt. Pat Redmond, the community of Dunmore East and to all our sponsors in 2018.

As we move towards 2019, our plans for the 15th Anniversary Hook or by Crook are even bigger with a Pasta Party on the Friday evening, a full Triathlon Expo at the event and our now famous After-Party on Saturday Night at the Dunmore East Golf Club. We will publish more details as we have our official launch and the event opens for registration in the coming weeks.
